Simple Dignified Service

Everything is handled for you — from arrival timing to coordination with the funeral director.

Arranging a piper for a funeral or memorial should not add stress to an already difficult day.

A typical service includes one to three tunes performed at the appropriate moment — graveside, chapel entrance, or procession.

Ryan works comfortably with funeral homes across the Austin area and coordinates directly with directors when needed.

Typical Service Fee

$300

Most local Austin-area funeral and memorial services are $300. Travel may apply for surrounding areas, and short-notice or multi-location services may be quoted higher.

Common Questions

How far in advance should we book?

Even short notice is often possible. If the date is available, arrangements can typically be made quickly.

Do you have to be Scottish to have bagpipes at a funeral?

Not at all. Bagpipes are requested at services across many backgrounds — Celtic heritage, military traditions, or simply a love of the instrument. If it feels right for the person being remembered, that's reason enough.

Where does the piper usually stand during the service?

That depends on the setting and family preference. Common placements include outside the chapel entrance, at graveside, or walking ahead of the procession. Ryan works with the funeral director to find what fits the space.

What songs are most commonly requested?

Amazing Grace is the most frequent request. Going Home, Highland Cathedral, Flowers of the Forest, and Danny Boy are also common. If you're unsure, suggestions based on the tone of the service are always available.

Can you coordinate with the funeral home?

Yes. Ryan regularly works with funeral directors on timing, positioning, and how the performance fits the service. Families don't need to relay details back and forth — coordination is handled directly.

From A Family

Amazing bagpiping service

We contacted Ryan about playing the bagpipes at my mother's funeral with very little notice. Ryan was able to work with my family and the funeral home in a timely manner to ensure my mother's service would be professional and unintrusive. Ryan arrived early and very prepared, dressed in the traditional Scottish attire he looked amazing and his bagpiping was wonderful. Very compassionate... I would recommend and welcome Ryan and his bagpipes to any event or occasion both happy or sad.
