About the Piper
Ryan Guthrie
A modern Highland piper with deep local roots and international experience.
Ryan Guthrie is a fifth-generation Austinite who began learning the pipes locally with the Capitol City Highlanders before pursuing the craft professionally in the United Kingdom.
During seven years abroad he performed throughout England and Scotland and served as the official piper at Lancaster Castle — one of England's historic ceremonial sites. Now back in Central Texas, Ryan performs for families, couples, and events with the same professionalism and care he brought to ceremonies overseas.
